Imagery, Imagination
Demonstration Workshop with
Chuck Aydlett

October 11, 2014

Chuck Aydlett creates surreal ceramic figures, vessels and sculptures comprised of hand-built and slip-cast components. He decorates his work with dreamlike drawings that take the viewer on a narrative journey using perspective drawing and three-dimensional elements.

During this one-day workshop, Aydlett will demonstrate a variety of surface techniques, from underglaze pencil sketching and mapping-out glazed areas to the use of china paints for highlights and illusion. The use of decals, majolica and imagery stamps will also be discussed and presented.

Aydlett will give a public artist talk on Saturday, October 11 at 7:30 pm in the Bray Resident Center.
