Go Figure: Mixing it up with Metal and Clay
with Lisa Clague
September 4–7, 2014

Explore the exciting possibilities of working with metal and clay in this intensive, four-day hands-on figurative workshop. Clague will show how to build a small torso, demonstrating the use of various surface techniques, the incorporation of metal as well as the use of fabric dipped in casting slip. Participants will learn how these various materials can be used to create spontaneous and lively pieces. Students will use a variety of materials including fabric or stuffed animals and metal such as forks, spoons, bolts, coat hangers, nails or wire that they will be incorporated into their work.

Clague will give a public artist talk on Saturday, September 6 at 7:30 pm in the Bray Resident Center.
